Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Social Scraper (the “Service”). By creating an account, authorizing the Service in an MCP client, or using it in any way, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1 The Service
Social Scraper is a developer service that delivers structured, machine-readable data about publicly available social media content through the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and related interfaces. It returns data such as profile details, post and video metadata, and engagement figures. The Service accesses only content that the relevant platform makes publicly available; it does not access private accounts or bypass access controls.
2 Eligibility & Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. Access is authorized through a secure sign-in (OAuth); you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at [email protected] of any unauthorized use.
3 Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- attempt to access private, restricted, or non-public content, or circumvent any access control or authentication;
- use the Service to harass, stalk, defame, or harm any individual, or to build profiles for unlawful discrimination;
- use returned data in violation of applicable law or of the terms of the platform the data originates from;
- resell, sublicense, or redistribute raw Service access as a competing data feed without our written permission;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
You are solely responsible for how you use the data the Service returns.
4 Subscriptions, Billing & Renewal
Plans and pricing. Paid plans are subscriptions priced per platform; the price and included request allowance depend on the platform you subscribe to and are shown at the point of purchase. All prices are stated in US dollars (USD).
Requests and limits. Each plan includes a fixed monthly request allowance. Allowances are a hard limit — the Service does not charge overage fees. When an allowance is reached, further requests are declined until the next billing period or an upgrade.
Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically on the same day each billing month until cancelled. Your request allowance resets at the start of each billing period.
Taxes. Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise; any taxes required by law will be added at checkout.
5 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation stops the next automatic renewal; your plan and its remaining allowance stay active until the end of the current paid period, after which the subscription ends.
6 Refunds
If a paid plan is not working as described, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will investigate and issue a refund where a service fault on our side is confirmed. Because request allowances are consumed as the Service is used, usage during the period may reduce the refundable amount. As we do not charge overage fees, you are never billed beyond your chosen plan.
7 Intellectual Property
The Service, including its software, interfaces, and documentation, is owned by Social Scraper and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with your plan.
Third-party content. Content that originates from social media platforms belongs to its respective owners. Social Scraper does not claim ownership of, and does not sell access to, copyrighted works; it provides a technical means to retrieve publicly available data. You are responsible for having any rights necessary to use that content for your purposes.
8 Relationship to Third-Party Platforms
Social Scraper is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, YouTube, TikTok, or any other platform whose public data it may access. All product and platform names are the trademarks of their respective owners. Your use of data obtained through the Service must comply with the applicable platform’s terms and with applicable law.
9 Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, or accuracy of data. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular content will be retrievable.
10 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Social Scraper will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to us in the three (3) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.
11 Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.
12 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, by notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
